Friend, you can hold down a button to skip cutscenes you've already seen. Might even work on new ones, but I've never tried because you miss context, plot, and good art when you skip a new cutscene.
I think the button is A on controller and Spacebar on keyboard, so whatever your jump button is should do the trick.
nah you dont understand.. when I launch a game the first time I deliberately zip past all the crap to get to the gameplay to determine if I want to play it. then I go back restart and get the story. Step 1 is the ability to skip dialogue and cutscenes - whether or not ive seen them before
if I cant skip dialogue, i skip the game

That's ridiculous, you can gather what the gameplay is like from the trailer! You'd really buy a game and *then* decide if it's worth playing? And you'd pass up a good game just because you couldn't play it in the bizarre order you desire? Why don't you use the trailer to decide if you'll like the gameplay, go into the game with the mentality that you'll likely enjoy it, and then just have fun doing that?

In any case, the cutscenes ARE skippable, and the cutscenes at the start of this game are very short anyway, you could get through them in anywhere from 15 seconds (I don't remember if you can skip individual pieces of dialogue or not) to a few minutes even without using the jump button to skip them, and that's counting the ones just after the tutorial.

I got this game for free with humble, and i'm still disappointed

Did you at least give the gameplay a chance though? If you did and decided it's not for you, then alright, but I hope you disappointed for more reason than just the cutscenes because the game is really good.

No, it‘s not ridiculous. With Steams refund system it absolutely makes sense to buy a game, try it and refund it if you don‘t like it AND stay within the 2hr limit by skipping everything. And judging gameplay from trailer? That’s like judging the taste of a McDonalds burger by looking at the advertisement pictures behind the counter. It kind of gives you an idea but it‘s far from perfect.
So skipping everything to try the gameplay is definitely a smart move in my opinion.

In any case, this game does *not* have long unskippable cutscenes, you can very much get into the gameplay and properly get a feel for it in under two hours. Heck, you can 100% finish the first chapter in under two hours if you're expedient.

I agree with you on the trailer not being clear on what the gameplay will be like, you never really know until you try it. I moreso meant that the trailer gives you an idea of what the game will be like and that helps you narrow down to which games you'll actually give a shot.
