I mostly create small simple games for personal challenge and game jams and this engine helps keep things fun. The main features for me are:

- Lightweight and quick to start the editor and launch a game.
- CSG Brush support with some interesting abilities
- Good API which you can usually figure out some way to do what you want
- API of a size and complexity that you have a good change of understanding ALL of it
- Good documentation with examples against every command that you can quickly get in the editor and launch.
- Nice asset browser for downloading some good quality assets
- Some good tutorial videos recently made more accessible from the editor.
- Interesting possibilities with FlowGraph, prefabs, export brushes to mesh etc.

These things contribute to you being able to use the engine as a tool where you start to see possibilities and ways forward more naturally rather than constantly forgetting how to do things.

The downsides are probably that there is a smaller user base than something like unity or unreal which can mean that there are less assets and tools available.

It is a good fit for a single developer or small team. If you have the capabilities and desire to understand basic coding or development concepts then you could get started with this tool with little to no experience. It will best suit someone who is prepared to get their hands dirty and solve problems themselves.

The forums are very friendly and you can ask any question without worry. This is a great help but it will likely ultimately be up to you to be able to understand and work through suggested solutions or rethink other options if the solution you really want is a bit beyond you.

The engine is new (though based on many many years of previous engine development) so that is something to be aware of. Problems are likely to be fixed quickly (hours or days often the case during beta development). If your life depends on it then developing on a very new engine probably not the choice to take. Feeding back any issues you find and seeing them fixed is nice to see.

This engine helps keeps things nice and light and fun while you work through the typical hurdles that usually accompany game development in any engine. What you learn on the way probably remains relevant for other engines too.
