Clay farming

Okay so I have the Minnie quest where I need 200 clay. There have to be better clay spawn rates. I farmed for 3 hours and got 36 clay and def farming in the correct area. Its so exhausting, especially when I have to close up the holes afterwards aswell. Please tell me there is an easier way.

Are you taking a digging buddy with you?

How many digging buddies do you have in the village?

Are you digging in the proper spots in the correct biomes? You want to aim for the actual muddy spots in the biomes to get the most clay; you can't just dig randomly anywhere on the ground in the correct biomes.

With a digging buddy, a total of three digging-assigned villagers, and digging in the right spots, I had the 200 clay in a couple of hours.

Oh, and if you don't wanna deal with the holes, they'll close up on their own after 72 hours. Or you can go into Furniture mode and place objects over them to make a bunch close up quickly and then pick the object back up again.

Yeah, bring a buddy with you and make sure they're the highest rank you have. Then go for the muddy places, Glade of Trust, In front of the Elephant Bones.

As mentioned, take a digging buddy with you and keep the button to dig pressed, just as if you're harvesting or seeding plots.
Your character will automatically move towards the next spot.

Also, I've rearranged the trees in the Glade of Trust to have a long stretch of land bare so I can easily dig straight ahead until my energy is depleted.
Bring plenty of cherries, lemons or cacao beans to keep your energy up and you'll have 200+ clay within the hour!

I think I got all 200 in that much time digging with level 10 friend. It seems really unlucky

Trick with the holes.

1. Go into furniture mode
2. Choose a bigger footprint item like a bed.
3. Place bed over holes to get rid of them
4. Move bed to next set of holes.
5 . lather, rinse, repeat..
6. Make sure you leave the bed placed when done and you exit furniture mode.
7. Re-Enter furniture mode and remove the bed.

#6 is very important as if you remove the bed before exiting furniture mode then the holes reappear.

Some people use bigger items like houses in stead of a bed but that seemed like more hassle to me.

I did it in about 20 minutes with a level 10 digging friend. Two best spots for me were the dirt by the elephant bones and the rear section of the glade of trust.
