Cant complete 'Customer Knows Best'?

So i started playing late at night and stopped after a little while, started the game up the next day and got the above quest, but the Throne you are supposed to buy has cycled out of McDuck's shop...and the little blue chair doesnt work.

Do I have to wait for that stupid throne to come back or is there something else i can do?

I think as long as the item meets the requirements of "blue" and "study" you should be good. That being said, I wound up giving Merlin the ice throne for my quest, so I couldn't say for certain that there are other items available early on that also meet those requirements.

If you don't find the throne in the shop, then pretty sure you can just order it by talking to Scrooge.

Well i didnt see it on his order list, but ill keep trying

I'm stuck here. Scrooge doesn't offer anything blue. He did at first then it gave an error when I tried to purchase now there is nothing listed as active quest when I try to order.

I have bought several items with blue in the tag, it doesn't even register in the quest that I bought it. Try to talk to Scrooge and Merlin and can't progress the quest.

just pick up one of the book stacks outside Merlin's tower home, most of them count, and it's pretty cheap to order a replacement if you wanted to.

Thank you, the Reddit solution worked for me. I just placed the second blue study item on the ground and I automatically gave the one in my inventory to Merlin when I spoke to him

Just thank you so much, I suffered for 3 hours!!! Until I put the extra stuff out of the inventory, it didn't work.
What a stupid game error.
