Game Is Now Chore, No Longer Enjoyable Outside Starpaths
I said this as well in the video released on YouTube for the upcoming Wonderland Whimsy update, this game has lost it's touch of magic. It's no longer enjoyable to play the game because of how frequently star-paths and events are being pushed out. While you give us 40-50 days on star-paths, you're not giving us enough time in-between star-paths to recuperate. Otherwise if we don't participate in the free one-time events, we're then forced to buy the items in the premium store if we want them afterwards. Which at this point, the repetitiveness of the star-path duties is almost excessively demanding over other things in-game. Duties that take literal days to complete sometimes because you can only do certain things once per day, or limited to 3 items per person and requiring us to give gifts over numerous days to numerous people. I haven't been able to complete any of the actual in-game quests because I spend most of my time on star-path duties I don't have the energy or enthusiasm to want to do anything else. I log in, play for a few hours working on star-path duties and stop when I'm at an impasse or I genuinely get bored. This is at least my personal opinion on all of this, I don't know if anyone else feels the same or can relate in some way. But for a company who pushes their players to take healthy breaks in-between game play, you certainly don't care to make an example of such behaviour.

<finished Star Path in a week and a half. Been waiting for something new to do for weeks.>

Ok.

edit: yes, they are getting repetitive. But that means I can anticipate the tasks and do them efficiently. (I leave my night thorns to build up before a new path so I've got lots to harvest; I leave all my memories lying around until I have two or more "collect memory" tasks; etc)

Ok.

Not everybody gets as lucky as others and is able to finish the star-path as quickly. Some are stuck for days completing certain gathering quests. Some of us also have lives outside of games too, so we don't get the privilege to sit and grind all day and night. But I mean good for you I guess? Quite an odd flex if I'm being completely honest.

Yes I saw your edit btw.

How long is it taking you to finish the Starpath that you can't do anything else. They are very generous with the length so people can start later and still finish even at a casual pace. Tasks need to be time gated so you can't just blow through the whole thing in a day.

I'll give you a few examples for you:
Daisy's boutique duties - 1 per day. At minimum 2-3 days total.
Gift giving - 3 gifts max per day, sometimes 4-12 gifts total depending on task, especially as of recent.
Restaurant specific duties - serve 15 people. Sometimes I only get 1 customer per 2 hours. The schedule for diners is wildly inaccurate and I've tried looking online for accurate ones.
Mining specific duties - mine 5 shiny gems. I could spend the entire day mining from those specific gems and only get non-shiny gems or entirely different gems not included in the duty.
Fishing duties - especially ones dedicated to specific fish that can only be caught in blue circles, while having to clear white circles in order to get them to change.
Memories - 5 to 15 max. Some days I'll only get 1 or 2 memories TOTAL, even AFTER doing excessive mining and fishing and other gathering. I sat for 2 hours growing a patch of 150 wheat and only got 1 MEMORY the entire 2 hours. And wheat only takes 1 minute to grow, roughly 5 minutes in-between to plant and water. I got extremely bored after the 2 hours because it was just too damn tedious.

Now if you gather a bunch of duties that limit how many you can do or give per day, you're sitting waiting until the next day. Also not to mention, I'm not playing from sunrise to sunset, I play realistically; I take bathroom breaks, food breaks, sometimes I need to stand and stretch because my back hurts from sitting for extended periods. So in total sometimes it can take me two and a half, maybe 3 weeks to finish the duties all-together. I go to bed at a decent hour and wake up at a decent hour, give myself time to fully wake up and do other life things before I sit on my computer. Not to mention I didn't notice this last event until it was 29 days left because I had real life plans outside of my computer. I was working for an event, doing lots of planning and organising, going to said event, then recuperating when I got home. I finished the event when there was 10 days left. After I finish a star-path I genuinely don't feel like playing the game for a while because I now take the time to rest and play other games, or some days I don't even touch my computer at all, knowing I'm going to have to do it ALL over again for another new star-path.
Most regular tasks gate at 2 days, and the extra tasks at 3.

The restaurants are busy at lunch and dinner times. Stack the duties so you finish multiple from actions. 2 weeks is a pretty reasonable time to finish the whole thing.

Once you knock over the permanent content the Starpath is all most of us have to play outside updates or events.

These ones take like 5min/day. The only semi-annoyance is that they take multiple days.

Yeah, that one can be a pain, depending on what times you can play. The restaurants are busiest at real-world meal times. So lunch (11-1), dinner (6-9), etc. And the customers shift on the hour, so if you play from 8:50-9:10, you can get more than if you play from 8:10-8:50.

Memories - 5 to 15 max. Some days I'll only get 1 or 2 memories TOTAL, even AFTER doing excessive mining and fishing and other gathering. I've been saving up memories since I finished the current star path ~30 days ago. Between the base game and the DLC zones, there's 15+ memories waiting. And I don't pick any up until I have two or more memory tasks, so each memory counts for both of them. (I get most of my memories from Night Thorns/Time crystals/Inkies, harvesting them with the Ancient Vacuum. Takes a few minutes every week or two.)

2 weeks is one thing. Playing every single day straight for those 2 weeks just to complete the entire event, if I'm lucky, is where it's tedious. I don't normally play games that heavily just because I get burnt out real quick. After spending a few hours trying to clear 10+ duties, I no longer want to do anything else in the game, and this is coming from someone who used to play daily and enjoyed it. Now all I ever really focus my time on is the content from the star-paths, or small events like the Easter Egg one and the Saint Patrick's day one, which I found out about on the last day of the event.

I unfortunately don't have the new DLC yet so I'm limited to base and Rift. Thankfully most of Daisy's challenges I can complete in seconds because I keep small items on the platform, sometimes I occasionally have to change something out like an outfit. My only gripe is that her reset timer is 10pm. If the gift timer is 6am, her boutique challenge should be a much more reasonable time like 10am.

Yeah, it's an unfortunate truth that having the DLC makes a number of the tasks easier. Like, clearing the crystals & inkies in the DLC worlds, counts for the "clear night thorns" tasks.

And for the various "mine gems of <color>" tasks, there are DLC gems that work for some of those. Same for "catch seafood" & some of the other generic duties. (Oh, and the Dreamlight duties in the DLC zones count for the "do royal duties" ones. So if the main zone ones are annoying/tedious, you can switch over and do those ones).

At least they've added a base-game auto-cooker, so one can automate the various cooking tasks without the Ancient Cooker from Rift. But there's no replacement for the Ancient Vacuum.

Royal Duties yes thankfully, but not when you have to collect Dreamlight, since in Rift they're something different. I have yet to use the automated cooking thing yet but I will starting next update.
