Storybook Wishing Wells bug?

None of my wells have the scrooge sign's ?Does anyone else have this issue. If so any word on when it might be solved or we all S.O.L . Thanks !

Yes, it's been reported a lot. And it's a general problem with any unbuilt well, not just Storybook Vale.

For all that this game is live-service-like, they very rarely deploy patches & fixes outside the new content drops. So you'll likely have to wait for the Spring content patch for anything to happen.


(you'd think that "omg, can't open up new wells" would be a big enough thing for a hotfix patch, though)


edit: huh, there've been more hotfixes than I remember:

Although most of them were in the week or two right after a patch.

And the two "Spring" updates so far have been April 5 (2023) and May 1 (2024). So who knows when the Alice in Wonderland patch will be.

Maybe a fix makes it in with an Easter event if you lucky.

I read that the approval process for games and patches for the consoles is a bureaucratic nightmare, plus they are a smaller team and on all the platforms, I could understand limiting the amount of work you want to put towards multiple patches.

Seems about right for GL…. They tend to break things that don’t get fixed till the next big update. Tho this is prob one of their biggest screw ups following randomly banning players for using multiplayer

I wonder by them moding the well to have different skins did that break something? If they went and modded all wells to be able to replace skin and they still can't figure it out this might have something to do with it: I remember with Eternity Isle came out and I was putting down stone path some wells could be placed on it while others could not, so if those cursed wells had anything to do with maybe something bugging out the well system I would suspect maybe that. That's all I know.

Can wish well be placed under the following wells.

Eternity Isle:

The Courtyard: Yes
The Oasis: No
The Wastes: No
The Borderlands: No
The Plains: No

Anywhere in the Wild Tangle: No

The well in the courtyard is different, why that is? No idea.

Storybook Vale:

All wells behave the same as the odd one on Eternity Isle.

Original Valley:

All wells behave the same as the odd one on Eternity Isle.

All the Floating Islands allow the Rocky Terrain Under them.

Either 4 of the Eternity Isle wells that do not allow the rocky terrain are bugged out or all the rest are for allowing it? No idea.

The floating islands were recent as well, they could have bricked the teleports messing with that too.

They don't tend to do bug patches in between content releases (there have been a handful of 'hotfix' patches, but they're always close to a content release), so we're assuming if they have a fix it'll come with the Spring / Alice in Wonderland patch. Which might be next week?

Soon, regardless. All the previous Spring patches have been in April/May.

Not limited to just Storybook Vale :( Haven't been able to unlock wells in Frosted Heights, Forgotten Lands, or Sunlit Plateau for over a month
