It doesn't rain in my game anymore
Hey guys. I’m stuck on Elsa’s quest: What Home Feels Like. She asks me to fish a Glittering Herring, which only appears in the Glade of Trust on rainy days, but it hasn’t rained in my game for a long time. Because of this issue, I can't unlock Sally.

I’ve tried everything: I checked several forums, including DDV's official website and Reddit. I’ve tried repairing my game on Steam, playing at different times of the day, and absolutely nothing worked.

I purchased Disney Dreamlight Valley on December. It rained a few times during the first days of playing, but for the past two weeks, since the beginning of January, it simply hasn’t rained anymore.

Someone from Reddit mentioned that this might be a visual bug, meaning it’s actually raining, but we just can’t see it. This person suggested planting some carrots near the house and not watering the seeds, then keeping an eye on the map to check if it’s raining when the seed gets watered automatically. I tried doing this too, but it didn’t work either, which indicates that, in my case, the bug isn’t visual—it really hasn’t rained at all.

I also tried to contact Gameloft, but I haven’t received any response so far.

Does anyone know how to help me?

Just to check: you unlocked the snowed zone and didn't complete main quest there? Because while that anomaly exists in your valley, there will be no rain.

Yes, I've already completed The Great Blizzard quest from Olaf and placed the stone in the portal. :steamsad:
there is a known bug going around since the sew update with sally.. a lot of players valleys are currently not raining.. i play daily and have had 0 rain at any time i check for over a month.. so its not you and the devs have been informed :D unfortunately you just have to wait it out.. i had a glitchd quest for a while and just had to wait for a hot fix to help me out
The usual culprit in that sort of thing is time traveling (setting your clock to another time to skip a game required pause). I have seen that no rain thing just happen for a three or four days. I started to wonder at the time if they had gauged it to my RL weather...which had also been dry.

I don't think it is that sophisticated. You might try verifying your game files in Steam. If you really care, try resetting your server....not recommending that. I have also had several days of rain in a row whenever I logged in. Again, I live in a location where we were having relentless rain at that time.

It would be kind of cool/but suck if they have tied the game to your local weather. Seems unlikely given the way the game is meant to work.

Your response made me feel a bit calmer, as I thought it was a specific issue with my game. I’m a relatively new player, so I hope they release a patch to fix this bug. Thanks a lot!

When I started playing, I watched some tip videos for playing DDV, and one of the tips was to never adjust my clock to make things go faster, so I’ve never done that. In fact, during the Nurturing Orb quest, I waited three full days in real life because I already knew I shouldn’t adjust my clock to pass time.

I’ve verified the game files on Steam multiple times, but my game still doesn’t have any rain. I’d rather not reset my server because I know I’d lose all my progress. Another person mentioned that this is a bug that came with Sally's update, and the devs are already aware of it. I really hope that’s the case and they fix it.

Regarding the possibility of the game being linked to local weather, I actually considered that. When I first bought the game, I was on a call with a friend, and it was raining in my city the day I played. It started raining in the game too. I asked her if it was a coincidence that it started raining in the game as well, and she said she initially thought the same but later realized it wasn’t related. Still, I have my doubts, because the only days it rained in my game were the days when the local humidity was high, with rainy weather. Coincidentally (or not), it hasn’t rained in my city since the beginning of January, which is when it also stopped raining in my game.

Even so, I hope this is just a coincidence and that it’s truly a bug from the Sally patch because, in my opinion, it'd be unfair if they tied the game’s weather to local climate conditions. For instance, people living in extremely dry areas would never have rain in their games. All I can do now is wait.
