Some other people have mentioned it could be in the same spot as a tree, flower, shinny dig spot or other objects. Try removing all the trees, pathways, rocks and small rocks, foliage, and so on to see if that fixes it.
So i tried that, removing everything i could except the ponds and goofys stall and wishing well, then retarted my game and still no sock.
You sound like you tried everything, meaning your game is glitched. You didn't by any chance back up that one save recently before starting that quest did you? That may be your only option until the Devs have any fix for that. I myself, because of the MANY bugs in this game, save that one save subsequently in numerical folders before I start any quest just in case. I have been trying since day 1 of this game to convince the Devs via their Discord to implement Manual saving to make glitches like yours easier to deal with, with no luck whatsoever.
Honestly idk if I backed it up, and I’ve unlocked so much other parts of the map and such that going back will put me back so far in terms of progression
Just remembered something else you can try. Right click on the game in your list to the left in your Steam Library, then properties, then Local Files, then Verify integrity of game files. When it is complete, if you notice that it tells you that you were missing some files, then that may be the cause. I usually do this after each update and did notice that when I did this right after the Scar update, I was missing some files.
mine was near the orb shrine near the corner/close to the mining spot, it despawned my tree I placed there haha
I did that and all was good no missing files and then I loaded my game and the sock appeared
Nice, good luck with the rest of the quest!
You'd think the devs would have thought of this and made it so it would check the area and any surrounding spots until it found an open area to spawn, but nope.
