Problems with the camera tool

I need some perspective from other players. For a good while now, anything that requires a camera to complete a quest is just not going to happen. It even affects regular dreamlight tasks as well as character quests and now main story. Has any one else been dealing with this? All I have dug up so are are past problems with character quests reported from others, but for all I know, they have been solved.
Guess all I can do is keep on being patient.

The current workaround seems to be to use the number keys (6) instead of the wheel thing. Not sure what you do if you play with a controller.
