Bug with Ursula's Quest "The Ritual"

So I placed the plant in front of the cave as required. However it didn't trigger the next step. Went to talk to Ursula, as sometimes I find that triggers things to move forward. Nothing. Left the game, came back and now the purple plant is missing from the beach and not in my furniture inventory, or any inventory at all.

I had an issue with the quest as well. i placed the flower and then my screen went into camera mode but it was out of focus. I got out of it and my quest updated to "talk to Ursula about what happened." The purple plant was supposed to disappear per my discussion with Ursula. But I would have liked to watch the cutscene.

Did you put it in front of the right cave? My wife put the plant next to the far cave where you first meet Urula and thought it was lost, but it had teleported above the cave (so in the forest )

i have the same issue. i placed the plant - but no update.
can i delete the quest and start it again or is this not possible?

I've got the issue the flower wasn't in my inventory so I couldn't even plant it.

the solution for my problem was to switch into furniture mode - than i was able to put the flower to a new place and i could the quest finish

I got the exact same thing but it just teleported the camera around and I didn't see a thing.
