Couch / Local coop?

thats my main selling point, is there any information on if or when this game could get couch coop?
I read there is online coop kinda but thats not really interesting for me :/

It's really a single player game. The "online co-op" is just being able to visit other people's valleys and see what they've done. Items can be traded, etc. It's not really that big a thing. Not even sure if you can 'quest' together.

So I kind of doubt that couch co-op will show up.
