Star Sapphire is a new gem in the DLC.
re: book flowers - if you have Rift in Time, you could try putting out an Ancient Vacuum
(annoyingly, the two halves of The Bind on either side of the bridge, count as separate areas for the vacuums.)
edit: nope. The vacuum can't be placed under the bridge, and if it's placed on top of the bridge it doesn't detect the flowers beneath it.
Ah my bad. I thought maybe OP was referring to Shiny Sapphire.
