EDIT: forgot to mention, but I really enjoyed the first interactions the player has with him. The way you solve the puzzle to get the Spark of Imagination was like being in a rubberhose cartoon.
With Eternity Isle displaying a lot of Atlantian imagery I was hoping that maybe when we entered that area we would meet Milo, or Kida, or even Mole. I found discovering Oswald there to be very out of place and am disappointed with this character choice. One of his quests, An Alarming Development, was kind of cute but I do find myself levelling his friendship as quickly as possible so I can be done and tuck him away into a corner.
But I can see how he "fits" in the overall DLC quest, in the whole "he's from the PAST! When it was all black & white!" way. (rather than the previously-mentioned Atlantis characters)
And they couldn't use Steamboat Willie, because that's just Mickey Mouse without color. And we have MM already.
It would have been interesting if they kept him as a silent movie character, but I imagine that would annoy the programmers if they did much more future content with him. /shrug
