Fishing with Moana

Is anyone else having issues completing Moana's How Far You'll Go quest? I got to the first fishing spot and for some reason, my rod doesn't want to stay in the water. I can wind up and aim like normal, but the game keeps bugging after that.

Have had that fishing bug quite a bit lately. Cast it somewhere close not in the circle to see if it will fish at all, maybe have to close the game and try again.

I had the bug when i restarted my save. Asked over discord and it's since the last update that there is fishing issues.

There is not quick fix about Moana's quest but you can try until the line stick (is what i did) by moving a little bit to the left or right and hoping you will get to the right spot.
In any case if you keep the bug around, don't hesitate to join the discord and post about the issue !

cast just past the ripples. the orange ripples seem to be in the wrong spot so casting a little further than where they are worked for me
