eternity isle grey coral ???

can someone tell me what the concrete, coral looking things are in different areas? and what to do with them? I have upgraded everything but cant break them? do they do anything or just a different part of the landscape? thank you

You can't break them. They're just there. You can remove them when you're in building mode though, which is what I did.
