Wasnt the full release supposed to be free to play, im pretty sure it was in the EA notes

It was announced in October that Dreamlight Valley would no longer be going free to play and would remain as a paid title. There are pros and cons to that, but it isn't worth debating at this point as the decision was made and it is what it is.

Regardless, it is an enjoyable game and the amount of content is worth the price of entry. DLC content remains to be seen though.

Yeah and its not even full release- its going to be one of those games that is given an update every few months forever but is never fully released. It is also going to have expansion packs to put all attractive content behind a paywall, has a paid battle pass AND microtransactions. Its just a money grab game.

It leaves early acces today... so it IS full released now

It’s okay. The easy solution to a single player game trying to fleece you with microtransactions is this:

- Buy the game from a key reseller site OR on sale
- Use a trainer to give yourself premium currency
- Free unlockables INSIDE the game you paid for!

This is what I’ll be doing thanks to their predatory bait and switch.

i mean sadly the key sites dont have this on there, alongside that some do but its not much different then buying on steam.
prem currency just snap a crap photo and open chests and you get 700 a week for that.
the only thing you end up forking out for is the expansion but thats not even that bad, its worth it fully.

now either support gl or dont, but i do think this game is worth it compared to others they do

so if you missed ea, then sorta your fault i suppose as the game and expansion would cost you 48gbp...

When i read about EA the game was originally announced F2P i just never saw the update where they changed there mind late into EA
