Love this game, BUT.....
First off, I want to say I love this game, I love the storyline, I love the characters (although I would have liked Timone and Pumba instead of Simba and Nala). The quests are amazingly thought out and make me feel involved in the story and backstory.

What I HATE, is that the game is tied to RL time. Characters are asleep at the same time every day meaning if you only can play during those times, you can't run around with them. Characters are at the restaurant every day at the same time, so you can only serve dishes if you play at those times. And the worst, and I mean THE WORST, is that certain quests are wait this many RL days. I don't think I have ever played a game that punished players that want to play all day or players that can only play at certain times worse than this game. And the only reason I can see for this is to extend "gameplay hours," making the game look like it has more content than it does.

That said, I will be buying the expansion package, because I really do love this game. I just wish instead of forced time sinks, we had more content, and maybe some replay-ability via actual choices other than cosmetics in the game. Just my $0.02.

You should know:

If you have an active quest involving a character(s) they will be available even if they have a conflicting sleep time. You only need enough characters awake when you are to complete any provide a meal duties. I have not really seen an issue with availability in my 600+ hours, but I guess I could maybe see it if you never get at least 12 hours off some time during a day. (I might not even want to play a game if my commitments were using up that much of my time that I only had two or three hours)

As far as your WORST situation, there are plenty of things to do besides the quest of the moment. You are correct that they can only produce X amount of content in three or four months and they want to make it last as long as they can. This is actually pretty typical of a lot of games that feature regular content update.

I agree it is a good game, and maybe I am just burned out since I have played since launch, but I am going to wait- maybe forever- on the expansion. It will just be more of the same. A week or two of something interesting to do and then back to the fishing, mining, farming grind. In my case, with $24M credits and 1.2 million in dream light....those activities are not really floating my boat anymore. Collecting the blue chests and doing the dreamsnap is about the only thing left to do...and got over 20,000 moonlight and nothing in the store generally interests me.

I've seen plenty of issues with the character being asleep. Especially Wall-E, since he's asleep when I play in the morning. An already-active quest will keep him awake, but a new quest won't, and star path quests won't, either.

The only time I've seen an issue is with the Starpaths requiring a certain character that is generally sleeping while I play (Looking at you Venellope). But if I'm not playing later that day I'll just adjust the clock forward a few hours and it all works out.

the thing that bugs me the most is critter unlocks. like you expect me to play at midnight to 3am just to unlock a white squirrel??? WTF!
