Ultimate Edition problem
If I own the Ultimate Edition ($69.99) since Day 1, With the switch over to the new paid version. Does that mean I have to repurchase the game with the expansion pass? for the new Gold Edition ($69.99)

I am not sure I am following your question. If you are asking if you have it on PC and want to play it on Switch, you may have to buy a new license...not really sure.

If you own the Ultimate Edition, you likely don't have to do anything. I saw some info (not verified) that existing EA users may be getting ALL the premium items from the various sale packages as a gift.

I may have misread that or it may just be wishful thinking on someone's part, but I think you are golden unless you want to play on another hardware set up.

I am hopeful they will re-design things so we have an Account and can have multiple characters/saves under that account. Any premium items would be available across saves.

I have always wanted to play from the beginning again.

no.the expansion pass will be sold seperate, you will keep access to your game and even be given the items from the gold version for free as a thanks for being a founder. this was all detailed on their website so it is in fact verified. you will not lose anything and the only thing you may have to buy is the expansion pass dlc itself, which is 29.99 and comes with 5000 moonstones.

it is verified, it came from dreamlight valley's website. founders are getting everything in gold pack for free, other than the expansion pass. and we get 2500 moonstones, not the 15000 in the gold pack but honestly i'mnot too worried about moonstones since they said dreamsnaps are staying

I must be reading it wrong, and if so please help me understand lol

but on their site regarding those who own the founder's pack, it reads
"As a thank you to our Early Access players, all unique cosmetic items included in the upcoming Gold Edition will be given free of charge to any player who purchases and claims a Founder’s Pack in-game on or before December 4th, no matter the tier. Not only that, but all Founders will also receive 2,500 Moonstones to celebrate this exciting moment!"

so unless I am not understanding, nothing in that statement says the base game will be included for those who purchase one of the founder's packs. Just the cosmetics.

yes they said that but they also said, at the very top of that page under where is says GLOBAL LAUNCH DECEMBER 5th

copy/pasted from the website:

Early Access has been incredibly valuable for the entire Disney Dreamlight Valley team. Thanks to your enthusiasm and participation over the past year, we have had the chance to build the game we aspired to, while implementing your feedback to make the Valley experience even more magical. Reflecting on the journey we’ve been on with all of you, we’re so excited to share that on December 5th, Disney Dreamlight Valley will be leaving Early Access.

As we transition to launch, existing players will keep their access to the game, their Moonstones, and their save game.

So then does that mean the EP will be sold separate?

yes, for 29,99 and comes with 5000 moonstones, so basically 20 dollars worth of moonstones but i'm not too concerned about moonstones, the question is does expansion pass mean 1 dlc or multiple as usually an expansion pass unlocks multiple upcoming dlc and is like prepaying for them before launch, or is it them being creative with the naming of the dlc? we can only know when it comes time to add it to the game. november 1st they will be streaming it on different platforms so maybe that will help us learn more

Do we have to buy the EP more then once because I own the base game here and the ultimate edition on switch.

I hope Expansion means we might get a little more elbow room in the valley. Unless GL has a plan to allow us to dismiss villagers and their houses, it is going to look like Dharavi in Mumbai at some point.

If you have two accounts, you might have to buy the DLC twice.
