Beauty & Beast can't pick up key parts

Hey! I'm searching for the three key pieces from Lumiere's three hints. I'm pretty sure I found all three but I can't seem to collect them. They just stay there, no way to get them. Is this a glitch or is there something I'm doing wrong?

water the fire, use a pickaxe on the statue, shovel to dig the hole

I thought you might have to get them in order when the lion wouldn't give up the key. Got to the fire and no key either. Realised you'd have to put the fire out, and became obvious you use the tools for all 3 since one was buried, water and shovel, figured you have to break the lion.
