How To Get Bonus Digging Resources

I'm in progress of doing a quest to build rusty clock tower (takes a lot of clay) i'm digging for clay and then I realize I usually get bonus resources when I have my harvesting friend when it comes to crops. When I dig holes with the companion there's no bonus resources. Be neat if materials dropped when covering holes as well.

Is there a companion type that will give bonus resources will digging?

The digging companions should give you extra resources...but you do have to get them to top level for best effect.

Depending on where you are in the game, if you can craft the shovel bonus spell(s), you also get extra materials when using that. It is pretty short-lived and is kind of resource expensive.

Thanks, yah I have my shovel maxed out and using level 10 Remy he's a harvester. No bonus resource spawn from him while digging like 100 holes for clay. Opps realized there's a different skill for digging vs harvesting.

It would be kind of neat if we could assign toons to the tools, like for fishing option to have fishing alone or have a toon spawn when using tool. Same with shovel and pick. That would be cool vs having to ask someone to hang out.

Do you have Scar, you could get the upgrades for the shovel to let you dig up the bones.

There is an increase if you have 5 or more villagers with the same task. A youtuber named Serroh experimented with this. He also discovered that he ended up with more clay when it was raining.

Best thing you can do is make some shovel potions, get your digging buddy and start digging for that clay. It's tedious work. I just did this the other day and got so bored, I gave up. Also, apparently the best place to dig is in the Glade of Trust.

Why are you using a harvesting buddy? - you need to use a digging companion for pebbles and clay (I don't have any 'harvest' buddies - they are 'gardening' for crops and 'foraging' for spices and fruits, then 'digging' for mud, dirt or stones) If you don't have a digging buddy you can make books now to change companion professions.

yep fully upgraded. didn't realize the amount of clay per drop was like +2 when picking up one, that made task of getting over 100 less daunting.

I guess I associated shoveling with harvesting lol and used that companion, opps; there's a shovel skill for for digging. awesome ty :)
