Shiny garnet impossible to mine or intentionally made that way?

it took me a few hours to find them, then I found both right after the other. The RNG mocked me that day. When I DON'T want the shiny ones that is all I get, when I want them the RNG laughs.

You need to actually get lucky on the mining, got 1 and an extra from buddy but only 1 counts. But you only need to get lucky twice, so just mine all the spots and go do something else each day, they should eventually grow back primed red.
Maybe you could knock out all the other primed spots if there is a global limit like the gold fishing spots.

Are you only mining in the plaza and meadow? Took me about an hour and a half but I got it. Also, like ThanatosX mentioned, taking along a mining buddy doesn't work.

I must have been lucky. I did one round of all the mining spots in the two areas and nothing. About fours later I did another round and got them both on that tour. I think it works like the fishing spots, you have to get rid of the ones with green stones to get the red stones to spawn.

Of course taking a mining buddy doesn't work. We all know this. It's just that for this specific quest for the event, you need two shiny garnets and it takes forever to get. Approximately upwards of 1-3 hrs to get it and it's demotivating and demoralizing. Just reminds me that my life is worth more than the time I'm putting into the game.

The next one was the collecting shrimp. Of course we have a long month to do these quests but if you don't have time, you need to somehow put in the time to just waste trying to get shrimp or you can't complete the event. Shrimp is another low drop rate item.

I wonder how everyone else feels about that.

It did not take long for me. I treated it like a passive mission. Way better than when we needed 5 shiny aquamarine. I gave up at 4 because I finished everything else and I was bored.

I have a weird bug, shiny garnet doesn't count on the path.

Took me 3 days, playing a few hours each day, first day found one within 30 min, second day lots of mining no shiny garnets, third day found second 2 hours in.

Shiny gems are more rare.

That said I got two from the same spot. In Pleasant Meadow.

They are found in Plaza and Pleasant Meadow.

They decrease the drop rate during the star path event. As soon as it's over (and they remember to set it back (topaz is still broken)), you'll start getting the items left and right.

I thought they adjusted the drop rates during events for items needed for the path quests too but is it actually true?
