If I had to guess when it will launch, probably after implementation of the multiplayer feature slated for the second half of 2023.
However, that first blue chest might spawn in a spot you won't be able to reach for a long time, so it's possible you'll miss the first star path depending on how fast you can open new areas. My very first blue chest was in Frosted Heights, and it took me a few weeks to unlock it.
As note, really long hours if you are just starting and need to unlock areas to get the blue chests. Unless they reduce the star path event times, there will probably be enough time to do it, but it would not be easy.
That is partially why I actually think the EA price is pretty reasonable. You get the game NOW and essentially you are just buying a reasonable quantity of moonstones for the things you NEED in the game. If you use the store, you probably will need to pay more eventually. While the castle re-skin seemed nice, that was the only thing offered that even remotely caught my interest...but not enough to buy it with real money.
I bought the cheapest version, and the moonstones have been adequate to complete everything offered. (But I do pick up the blue chest(s) most days. I am not exactly sure when they spawn back out, but they do seem to stick around at least an additional day if you miss playing for a day.
