Eyes in the Dark Bug

I can't finish this quest because only 2 dig spots appeared in the dried out oasis to dig up colorful bugs, and from those I only got one bug each. From what I saw by watching other people complete this quest online, you're supposed to get 2 or 3 bugs per dig spot. I have left the castle/realm multiple times and gone back in, turned off the game and reloaded, waited a few days, and nothing will cause more dig spots to generate. I have even tried digging up every single spot available in that area lol and I am stuck with only 2 of the 6 bugs needed to complete this quest. I'm at the end of my rope here, nothing seems to be working. :(

Same. I have 4 bugs, but need 6... I've got no new digging spots..

make sure you climb all the way up to the top of the hill, check every corner for both the bug and the plant quests

I have the same problem, have 4/6 bugs and CAN'T get the last 2 I need! Looked at videos to see where they got theirs and they're NOT on my map in the dried-out oasis. Apparently, they're supposed to be abundant but that's certainly not the case with me. I can, therefore, NOT continue this quest, which sucks big time, as I was super happy to have found Simba! Just another BUG amongst others in this game... Bummer! Jan. 9 Update - I have now tried waiting it out and still NOTHING! I've also tried digging every spot out of that small area to see if I'd find the little buggers and still, NOTHING! So, this is really the end of this quest! I've now got another to deal with that's screwing up my game big time so onward we go, and Simba I've lost!

I’m also having trouble. Im looking for the rest of the colorful bugs in the oasis. I checked when I go to cook it says I have 6 but when I go to the realm it says i only have 4. I can’t move forward to get the red bugs till I clear the others. I’ve tried contacting the support services for dreamlight valley but unfortunately they were much help. I’m at a loss.
