The new Wall-E bundle, which includes quests, isn't free.
Quests to unlock cosmetics
yep yep. Not to mention, it's pretty price-y.
yeah, but don't all quests technically unlock cosmetics?
I agree it would be nicer if all game play content was available for free. I do see a similarity in this is just another way to add DLCs that require payment. Hopefully, if I wait long enough, the price for the Wall E quest will come down to something that seems reasonable to me.
That is how I usually handle any game that offers DLC at some cost.
And isn't the entire game about cosmetics? Like, people argue "It's only cosmetics, so that's fine then - just ignore the shop". This saying comes from hack and slash games and shooter and such, which don't focus on decorating things. So annoying and yet even more annoying that people keep supporting this attitude...
As for the Wall-E bundle, I have no problem with paid DLC if the price is fair and the content good. Even then, I can still control myself and not buy worthless crap (which that bundle is). My biggest problem with this DLC is that they haven't even finished the game. FINISH YOUR GAME AND LAUNCH IT before charging people for game play content.
I see the game more as an an ongoing story with some various farming activities included. Some of the cosmetic stuff is cute (like the space ranger cardboard wings and helmet) but not what I play for.
It has been launched. "Early access" is just a term to excuse bugs and the lack of certain features. It is public available, you can buy it and you can play it and we're not lacking big features or got lots of bugs (well, for today's standards at least). What else would you expect to happen when they leave early access? This only enables publisher to "launch" their games twice to increase sells.
You said EXACTLY what I was thinking--this game is essentially just cosmetics and free play. I have said this over and over, but I wish there were mini games or other things within in...almost like stardew valley (the mini quests, the cave mining). I wish there were leaderboards (multiple small ones so that we all have a chance) each week with players trying to collect X amount of items for items/moonstones.
