Weird little black notebooks all over the place

I've found several each with different experimental results - you cannot pick them up and so far I've not found them used in any questline. Wondering if they will go with the potato-potions...

At some point you will get a new mission and those will be explained. If you want a preview, go to cave up in Frozen area. Knowing this game, probably nothing really bad happens if you answer the questions wrong... but I just backed away.

I am curious about the bottles all over in the water on dazzle beach. I figure it is Eric's stash of hooch. All that "love being near the sea" is just code for "I make bad choices about whiskey".

He should just hide them in the house.

I found two bottles... I "used" them and they became something that we have not been told about so I just stored them in my kitchen. I have also found 3 tiny black notebooks... I am excited to see how many more appear and what they will mean.

i seen bottles on the beach but cannot pick them up or anything

You Fish the bottles by landing the fishing bobber right on them. And there's like 18 of them. You can combine the shards once you've got all of them.

(yeah, I googled it when I found my third bottle)

I'm not sure that you will get a new mission about the notebooks as they seem to be part of the mysterious potato quests.

There are 10 notebooks hidden around, each with a clue. The clues pertain to the words you need to provide to the portal up in the Frosted Heights cave. If you provide the right words, using the clues, you get a purple potato. The potato can be used at a crafting station to make the purple potion (like the other potatoes that came before). So far, we don't seem to have a use for the potions yet, so I have them stored in a chest in my house. I'm assuming we will find out what they are for, down the road sometime.

Assuming you have all 16 emerald slivers and done their tasks and used the 10 notebooks to answer the portal
Check crafting table then search the forgotten's dark castle carefully while carrying your final potion

Thanks for the update on this. I hadn't realized there were other known steps in the potato quest. Finished gathering everything and I love my rainbow fox .
