Hang Out With Mickey & Friends

I have had 6 different characters "hang out" with me today, but not a single one registered on the star path..is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

yeah i got minnie, i think it is just the following characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Scrooge

Yeah, I grabbed Mickey since he was the first I ran across, and it finished fine.

It's referring to the 5 characters listed in the Characters section as Micky & Friends: Donald, Goofy, Micky, Minnie, and Scrooge.

it means mickey and his friends, minnie, scrooge, goofy, donald. and you only need to pick 1.

I picked up Donald and went fishing (as he's a fishing buddy), and I think I got halfway on that task. But I fished for longer than 15 minutes. Is this a bug?

I think that the task means they need 15 times EXP stars pop-up.
For example, go to pick up fruit or basil will have stars.

I don't think that's actually it... I wasn't sure myself until I tried something someone else suggested in another Steam thread. Full disclaimer: I'm on the Nintendo Switch playing it but triggering task shouldn't be different.

I already had 1/15 in the Hang Out with Mickey & Friends several days ago. I decided to give it another whirl after reading the thread I saw on Steam of someone suggesting this. Essentially, I found Mickey (though I think any of the "Mickey & Friends" category of characters work), asked him to hang out, and stood outside of Scrooge's shop idle while I continued to browse the various guides trying to find a definitive answer. I checked my Star Path duties just before me posting this and saw I was at 6 / 15 (which seems about right, I think they're in minutes, so I hung out with Mickey for 5 minutes before starting this reply. Hopefully, this helps clear up stuff for people. Also, during those 5 minutes, my Switch never "darkened" as if it were going to go to auto-sleep soon. So I don't know if the game detects idle-state based on the console's low-power mode and stops counting -- so if it doesn't work, that might be something to check. Also, it appears that being in the menu looking at the duties list, still counts as time hung out, because I literally popped out of the menu to the game and then nearly immediately back in, and saw it now sitting at 11/15. It may also only update in periodic intervals, like maybe everytime the game auto-saves or something.

It's all minutes for the hangout tasks, but the timers are a little janky, still not sure when it performs the checks for time elapsed. Just keep hanging out with them while doing other stuff, also being in menu might not count for time spent.

I just asked Mickey to hang out and 15 minutes later the task was done. As someone else said, this would also include the other NPCs in the row with Mickey in the Character tab: Donald, Goofy, Minnie, Scrooge.
