Verify game files in Steam,
Check to make SURE you have the most recent graphic drivers,
Windows up to date?
If you have programs running in the background, especially streaming software, kill it and see if that improves things.
Not sure what else to suggest. It runs fine on my rig and it appears it runs fine on most PCs. I have seen a couple of complaints from Steam Deck users. I have a feeling it is something on your side of the equation that needs tweaking.
I don't know enough about DDV to know if there is some shader file area or something you could remove that will repopulate. I know Steam has a temp file area that grows and grows if you don't manually delete it every so often. Depending on your laptop storage, that could be a problem.
Mr. Bufferlow, thank you for your reply. I did clear out all my temporary files, and made sure my Windows was up to date. I also uninstalled and reinstalled DDV. That helped mostly. How can I check my graphic drivers? I don't keep anything running in the background 90 percent of the time. Once again thank you for your response and help.
In regards to your 2nd issue, you only get credit for feeding a particular type of critter once per day. Any feedings after that are just a waste of resources.
As I noted in an earlier post, I have a feeling there is something screwy going on with your hardware on point 1. The fix could be a simple as making DDV a priority application. One possibility is something in the background is stealing focus from the game.
Open Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Task Manager".
Select the "Details" tab.
Find the game you want to prioritize and right-click it.
Select "Set priority" from the context menu.
Choose the desired priority level.
Alternatively, you can modify the privilege of a currently running application by using Task Manager.
This will make sure other programs running in the background do not steal processing power from the game when it needs them.
Hope that helps.
