That was a little confusing. And as soon as I build Vanellope's house, she goes right to sleep. The game just updated at 9am! Gameloft is just evil.

Turns out the "do a Dreamsnap!" quest from Vanellope's intro is just a demo. Once you've done the picture, it then pops up a "do you want to Opt In to the online contests" thing. So the quest one doesn't actually 'force' you to do the Dreamsnap stuff.

the quest one is just teaching you how to do it, it doesn't make you actually compete and you don't have to if you don't want but it is 300 free moonstones no matter what

i took a photo and didn't get any pop ups ,i still got a red dot to do wally's thing (face palm)

If the photo you take doesn't fit the requirements, it just works like a normal photo. If it does fit the requirements of the Dreamsnap, it'll include an "upload" option alongside save/etc.
