Night Thorns and other terrain blocks - respawn where and at what rate?

I cleared the Plaza of Night Thorns and Stumps and grey rock formations, and it's been half a day, nothing has respawned.
Is this situation specific to the Plaza? Where can I find some detailed information on which biomes will respawn what terrain blocks?

I've read that Night Thorn respawning can be an issue with Star Paths and such, don't want to get stuck or slowed down.

Those do not respawn within a day. Usually you will find some new ones the next day. I know for sure that of the night thorns you will find 10 new ones each day, but the biome they will spawn in is randomly chosen from the ones you have unlocked.

You can let the night thorns build back up at the end of a star path when a new one is likely to start. The rocks and stumps will generally spawn more than you care to clean up after a while. There is a very generous amount of time for the whole path, you are unlikely to not have enough daily spawns even if you full cleared right before you needed them.

At least in my experience, you will get a scattering of night thorns in at least 2 different biomes each day. Have not counted, but it is 20 or more. Plenty for what you might need as far as basic quest requirement go. (move your wells to locales you can't reach currently) Open new areas.

As with some of the other long term goals, you just have to do what you can (or choose to do) each day toward those goals.

Night Thorns, Mushrooms & Rocks respawn in various biomes. Coral (beach), Stumps (forest), Ice (frosted heights), and Bones (plains) respawn in their specific biomes.

. . . here's hoping that they don't start respawning until after you've done the quest that gives you the ability to remove them. That'd suck for new players :D



(And presumably the green flames will only respawn in the forgotten lands, once we finally get the ability to clear them.)

There were stumps in the Plaza behind Chez Remy and I cleared them. Does that mean they won't respawn in the Plaza but instead in the Forest?

I'd completely forgotten about that. :)

Yeah, since the respawning was added to the game, the stumps only reappear in the forest.
