I can't feed the animals

Hello I have Scars Quest but I can't feed the nectar birds, even if I have their favorite food. Also with the rabbits and the other animals it does not work. I always have the sign with the food and the X in the lower right corner, but I can't click on the food either. Does anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

Make sure you have the most complete version. That was problem a couple of days ago, but they patched it. Verify game files.

At the beginning I was able to feed all animals, but since few months ago I can't feed raccoons, crocodiles and ravens. I've been searching, but I can't find the solution :(

Yeah, I can't catch any raccoons and I did it so many times before...and I've been chasing them ad nauseam.

Hello everybody.
Since sunday morning, i have the same issue as Rhykross.
Dreamlight is update with the last version steam propose to me.
I think it is a different bug, because the first time i was unable to feed the criters, it was after the beginning of the event, and before the end of the storm. Just after, i was able to feed them again.
In the actual issue, we have a strange window which open, but we are unable to do anything.
My wife, who play whih me, has no issue, and the same version of Dreamlight : v1.3.0.6805.

An idea from the community ?

Same here, just tried to feed a hummingbird and it just won't let me click anything.
Yesterday was no problem.
*edit: I can feed the baby gators in the glade without issues, but not hummingbirds.

I have a possible solution (it worked for me): empty your backpack of all items and then try to feed the critter and see if the empty backpack shows up normally. There may be a buggy item - some people say its from crafting and carrying around one of the new books that change a characters "profession". If you have one of those, leave it in a chest inside your house until you're ready to give it to a character. I apparently either got rid of or reset whatever item I was carrying that messed it up (I did have one of those books in my inventory when I first started having problems) because I've been able to feed critters ever since. Your mileage may vary.
Edit to note: I put everything in a chest inside my house to clean out my backpack. Didn't have to sell or use anything.

I checked my inventory, and effectively, i crafted the manual of gardening and forgeted it in my inventory.

If this manual is in my inventory, i can not feed the critters.
If not, i can feed them.

My wife try with the manual of excavation, and this is the same.

SO it is now confirmed : the source of the issue is the new books !!!!!
