Shiny topaz?

Is anyone else having trouble finding shiny topaz or just me? I ran around for 6 hours yesterday with the even more miraculous mining polish and that didn't even help. I can barely even find regular topaz, just garnet and shiny garnet. I need it to give to Scrooge so i can finally complete this star path duty.

1. hit ALL the rocks (with gems and without gems). this helps regenerate
2. grab a character who has a high mining level (level 10)

this tends to help me. I just run around with Scar (level 10) to get extra rocks and I come back when the rocks regenerate

They tend to show up in bunches. You can go a couple of days with nada and suddently three out of the five in the plaza area will produce either a regular or shiny version. Having a mining buddy is good advice since they are rare enough that you want to make hay while the sun shines.

As they said above, you need a buddy with you with the mining trait and just mine all the nodes around the Plaza (you only get topaz there). I usually get a mining buddy and go around all the zones to collect gems and store them. When you've done them all, the nodes have spawned again and you can do another round if you want.

Don't rush it, you will get them!
