Premium shop - The beginning of the end
Introducing the Premium shop in the next patch marks the beginning of the end for DDV for me, with the paid Early Access drawing closer to the end. I don't mind that the game gets another way of collecting furniture and cosmetics for your village, becuase we need that! It's the "Premium" about it that sucks - "Free-2-Play" is just a bad idea for a game like this and will alienate your playerbase.

Making Moonstone "easier to get" is not going to solve anything until you take away the option to pay for it with real money altogether. Because we will never have enough of it to buy everything in the Premium shop AND the Starpath, will we, and I bet you anything the premium shop will only have items available for a short time...

As a EA-adopter I gladly paid to play the game and never regretted it. I can honestly say it's worth the cost have recommended several friends to get it as well. But I won't and will never recommend a F2P-game with "Preium-features". Make it a full priced game instead and drop this stupid way of encouraging people to buy digital items...

Having said that, I love the dedication to making this game better! Real great fixes and features being added!

I was totally aware of them intending to make the game into a F2P, I was just airing my thoughts about them introducing the "Premium" shop...

And now the patch is out and we know they are definetly not doing charity... And they want us to "test things out" and tell them if these prices are okay...? Please...

3000+ Moonstones per premium item, not even a fixed price... Packages of Moonstone are either €4,99 for 1200, €9,99 for 2500... Aw, so close to 3000, right? No, you have to pay €19,99 and get 5500, that you can still only get one item for, then you have to fork out another €4,99 to get a second item... OR, even better, why not just cough up €49,99 and get 14500 moonstones! That's good for... four... items...

Say what you want, if you want to farm star paths every month and find a measly 50 Moon stones in chests every day (that's 60+ days to get ONE of the Premium item btw...), then be my guest. This is just messed up.

It's not like DDV has invented the concept of a cash shop. No one forces people to buy moonstones. I still have those that I got when I bought the game, I didn't do the first and second starpath, then did the Christmas one, will not be doing the current ones either, so right now I don't really know what to do with them.

The main story and the character quests are not locked behind moonstones, you can only buy cosmetic items with them (which are really pricey, I admit that) and without those you don't get any less enjoyment out of the gameplay.
Additional 'premium DLC' will cost money and include certain characters/worlds. I don't mind this as long as it is actual, game-changing DLC with enough content to justify the cost. The current items in the premium shop however do NOT justify the price, especially the furniture pack items.

We all paid to be part of the 'early access'. Some of us paid more than others. Regardless, I don't think the premium shop should even be a 'thing' yet, and when the game IS free to play, the premium shop still needs prices adjusted.

Honestly I can live without the items currently available, but that doesn't make it okay. The game is now feeling like a 'free' mobile game which preys on people's addictions, and that becomes an accessibility issue.

As for the moonstones being available in game every day, you only get 50 per day. If you were to log in every day and find a blue chest, it would still take 20 days to gather 1000 moonstones, which still is not enough to buy the cheapest item currently in the premium store (cheapest is 3000 moonstones). You also have limited time to buy the items. If you were to purchase the moonstones it would cost you $65. With that money you could buy a brand new game instead...
I believe the premium items will cycle through, so if you miss it, it will eventually come up again. With the free chests you can buy a premium item set once every two or three months. Which isn't that bad. It is better than most cash shop games.
I could care less about the extras. I just enjoying doing the Quests, planting, harvesting, mining, cooking and collecting. Having to buy Moonstones will have no effect on me. There not forcing anyone to buy the Moonstones. I say keep the game as a paid game and keep as is. It works, people love it. You all did a great job. Don't spoil it with having to buy the Moonstones.

next it will be new charters 19.99 for a new char... or pay for this new map.
They have said that no characters will be locked behind paywalls. It will only be cosmetic items.

Surly not!

Yep, they have. and until they break that promise I am not going to start bashing their decision.
I don't think it heralds the beginning of the end, but it is a little offensive they dumped it out during PAID early access. I want to support the game, but it's never a good sign when you have to buy the game then feel coerced into buying cosmetics which some people will feel that way.

I had personally hoped it would be smaller purchases to accommodate the smaller moonstone packages. I much rather buy an item at a time rather than a set. Also, I kind of want to know what really differentiates these sets from one another? Why is one set of three cosmetic items more expensive than a set of three different items? It can't be because of the individual pieces because we're unable to purchase them apart from one another.

As an aside mention, it would be more of an incentive to buy if we could preview these items in-game in some manner. I don't want to take a risk on an interior housing skin if it ends up looking bad. So I do hope they consider some kind of system for that in the future.

Well we paid for early access but we did get all those moonstones with it. I assume the idea was they want people with moonstone during early access, so they can get feed back on the paid stuff.
Problem ls not putting a premium shop as we all knew it would happen from the start.
Real problem is asking 15€ for simple 3 objects pack for the sake of exclusivity using FOMO from a community that already paid up to 70 €.
When you realise that your 20k moonstones will only be worth 20 objects is plainly disgusting. Even the Sims did not dare.
This is not respectful at all.

Put a bad review on the game ! they will change when their review will pass from "extremly postive" to "mixed"
You are not really missing out on anything by not buying the items though. You can see what the items are, so if you don't really like the items, you don't need to buy them. There isn't even enough room to place all the items you get. As a completely free player you can do the star path and get an item set from the premium store every two months.

The only problem is if you are literally trying to collect every single item in the game, which there is no reason to do. There are tons of cool free items, and if you are active you can even get any of the premium stuff you want for free too. Just not everything in the game.
There are a lot of players rightfully complaining about the insane prices on the Discord. So hopefully they will listen and make the prices lower in the future. Fingers crossed! Otherwise I'm done with this game.
The Store wouldn't be quite so bad if Scrooge's Store had been improved. Yesterday and today Scrooge's Store had only items that I already own, except for a couple of clothing items. Makes me feel like they're trying to force me into spending money in their Store and, so far, that Store has nothing I would want, especially at those prices.
