Christmas event asks for stuff I haven't unlocked

As title says take a picture of an ice cave, can't cause i can't break ice walls yet etc. alot of quests like this in the event. I'm a new player so feel locked out.

You need to level up Elsa's friendship and doing her quests. It'll involve enchanting your pickaxe so you can break different sizes of ice, I believe there're two involving it, maybe three. You'll be able to do that specific event quest once you've done the first.
Elsa is unlockable after you've unlocked Moana, Wall-E and Remmy. I recommend leaving Remmy last, as Moana and Wall-E provide a service to the village, whereas Remmy teaches you recipes. I'll sub to this discussion, let me know if you continue being stuck, and I'll do my best to help <3

The "ice cave" isn't in the ice zone, it's in the forest zone. You might be able to take a picture of it from across the river. Or you can go into "place furniture" mode, move the forest Well across the river, teleport to it, and take the picture.

Oh, and it just wants a picture of the outside, not inside. (yeah, that confused me too, when I did it - thought I'd have to enter the cave.)

Welcome to time-limited and/or "live service" games. Events have worked like that in MMOs, other online games, and mobile games, for years and years. Just how it works. Wait til you ask "how do I get such-and-such shirt" and the answer is "from an event 3 months before you started playing". Destiny, Fortnite, Overwatch, Fallout 76, World of Warcraft. . . /shrug

All of the events have been this way so far and will continue to be that way forever. If you haven't unlocked enough, participation in the events will be limited.

They can't limit the events to just the plaza and Merlin. That would be boring.

If you miss out, there's always next year. I can't guarantee the rewards will be the same, though.

Like someone said in the thread earlier - use the wishing well to areas that you cannot reach and teleport there - take a picture outside. Worked for me.

Tip - take advantage of moving the wishing well to areas you cannot get to due to limited restrictions (not upgraded tools). Would high suggest watching some youtube video tips and tricks.

Ya I've only been playing a few days. As for the comments about thats how live service works... no that's not it. New games should always be looking to onboard new players and part of that is making sure events are tiered for every lvl of player. Not the rewards but the participation of the event. All they need to do is have tiers of tasks and give you tasks for your tier of unlocks. This can be programmed they just haven't thought to do it... I hope that's what it is. We are in early access; this is the time to mention it. It's not a FOMO complaint; its a participation complaint... and is fixable.

That kind of thing is unfair to the people that have unlocked everything. Why put in the effort and get harder tasks when staying on tier 1 has easier tasks?

For example:

Tier 1 task: Grow 80 wheat. Grows in 1 minute and only needs to be watered once.
Tier 8 task: Grow 80 pumpkins. Grows in 4 hours and needs to be watered twice.

Limited time activities are a fact of life, though. If you join a game on the last day of a two week event, you don't get a special "complete two weeks of event in one day" exception. If you miss the last day of a holiday sale, the sale prices are gone. If you miss the first day of a multi-day concert festival, you can't see the performers who were there that day. Etc.

Higher teir tasks reward more point thus you progress faster to move on to something else sooner: less grind for you.

My tasks right now are catch kingfish 5x, Craft Yule Goat 3x, Collect Star Coins 20k, Give Raspberry Boba Tea to Villagers 5x Harvest Okra 50x Start Daily Talks w/ Kristoff 2x

No clue what a Yule Goat is or Boba Tea. Laughed at the Kristoff one got it after talking to him, and he was the only person i talked to today in order to complete another of that same task. So I have that locked up for 3 days. So paid to have 3 extra slots and 2 are unable to be done and one is a time gate. Not FUN. 0/10 for extra 3 slots unlock lol

Then it's still unfair. Lower-tier people would complain there's too much to do to complete the event while higher-tier people would complain that the event is over too soon and there's nothing left to do.

There's already not enough to do in this game day-to-day making people look forward to the next event.

Also, sorry you spent your moonstones with not enough time to complete everything. They should shut off the premium path if there's less than enough time to complete everything.

Edit: They should also turn it off when the event items stop spawning (wrapping paper).

Ok so just because you Came into the event at the end that isn't the games fault at all your mad? Look at dates and keep a eye on that.. like wth lol. Not everything has to be given to you.. This event was pretty simple as long as you played threw it like it was suppose to. The Next one well be coming up soon. Also for things you don't know how to build It's simple Just google it And BOOM done.

Again i luv the white knighting and all really on brand for Disney Fans but its not that I can't complete the event, it's the event not including new players and asking a new player to do stuff they literally cannot do. My list is now...

Catch KingFish 5x haven't caught one all day did catch 4 Sword Fish, Craft Yule Goat ????3x, Raspberry Boba Tea 5x ???, Start talks to Kristoff 2x, Sell Coconut boba Tea ????10x, Give Donalds His Fav Stuff 6x so time gate again. So 2 time gates fish that won't spawn and 3 undoables.

Of course it's full of time gates. Even if it weren't an Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon clone (lots of time stuff there), it's also going to be f2p when it gets out of Early Access. Expect time gates everywhere.

Kingfish are caught from the blue pools at the beach (either those, or shrimp).
Raspberry Boba Tea & Coconut Boba Tea -> go to the guides section, all the recipes are there.
Of course, you need to unlock Coconut trees, which takes Maui I think.
(Milk + Sugarcane + Raspberry, Milk + Sugarcane + Coconut. You probably also need Remy + his restaurant open to get the Milk.)


And as usual, just because everyone doesn't agree with your issues, they're written off as "white knights". How original. /eyeroll
