Put Festive Fish Out
Because if the festive fish are in your inventory or storage, and you cook with that type of fish (regular recipes) it will grab your festive fish and cook it.

Does it even matter? Until this time next year, not going to worry about festive fish.

If it doesn't matter, no need to worry about it.

It does matter to some, who were upset when they lost their fish.

Kind of looks like you were invited to Ariel's christmas party that went really, really wrong there, StressFrakture. XD

Oh no, they are just napping, on the Frozen table. Nice and cool and comfy.

They prefer it to the cooking pot.

Thank you for the tip. I just tried to do this but accidentally ate one of the fish instead of dropping it. I exited the game straight away but it saved....so now I'm missing one of the fish. So frustrating. Why can't they just let us catch them more than once?! :(

Sorry that happened. I nearly ate one also -- maybe the devs could remove that option with this type of fish. It's so easy to click the wrong thing, with menu options so close together.

Or maybe an undo or 'are you sure' in between step for some things?

Yeah they should let us catch more than one, I think. Someone somewhere here said they got 2 of the same fish but can't get other ones. I did not see the red and green circles more than once per biome.

I think the real question should be: "why do they allow players to eat and cook them, when they are meant to be unique?" Though, the answer is probably because they forgot to remove those features when they created/implemented them. I hope they do that soon so that kind of accident doesn't happen to other players.
Great idea! :FishBeydo:

Well what else are you going to do with them? I suppose you can drop them on the ground for decoration but they are not really decoration.

Nothing. As you can pretty much tell, many players (me included) wish to keep them as trophies. Many have already expressed that they don't want to eat nor cook them because of that, and want to keep them in one of their chests, which the devs should have anticipated as those fish are meant to be unique.

I do that now mainly because right after getting the game I got a fish wearing a hat and wanted to kept it but by mistake ended up eating it. I felt so bad and haven't been able to catch that same fish again yet.
