Is anyone having issues with the game recognizing that you're feeding an animal around the village? Have tried multiple different animals, different foods, closed/saved, still not registering.

For quests and challenges it has to be the first feeding on a day, so if you already fed it, wait another day.

Just click on the "animals" tab at the bottom. Also remember that you need to feed the animals anywhere from 2 to 5 times (sometimes more) before it gets added to your collection. As RedLouis said, although you can feed them multiple times a day, only the first time each day counts toward the 2 to 5 feedings. Hope that makes sense.
