Can't plant Orb of Nurturing

I've been trying all evening to plant the Orb of Nurturing in Sunlit Plateau. I've dug multiple holes in a bunch of locations (I have dug where it's supposed to be as well, according to guides I've seen online), I've restarted the game three times and even restarted my laptop. I have similar issues with planting most of the time but I always get something planted eventually. This is not working for me at all. Is this a bug or something? I can't progress until this is planted and it's really frustrating.

You might read through the quest carefully. As I remember there was a minor task associated with it. Seems like it was a crafting task of some kind. I never had any problem, it just took three days for it to mature. Supposedly, I had to water it but it never appeared to need water.

I went back and checked that I've done everything and I have. I'm going to get Merlin up to level 10 tomorrow to see if that helps since he was involved in a lot of the tasks.

You need to plant it right in front of the statue where the orb goes.

Just to update: you need to have Merlin to Level 10. It doesn't say that anywhere in the tasks.

I don't think that's correct. (At least, it isn't at the current patch level.) If you've done everything to make the potion and upgraded your watering can, there shouldn't be any more requirements. I only have Merlin up to level 6. You might have to talk to him a final time. But as long as the text says to plant the orb, you should be able to. You do have to dig a hole first, directly in front of the pylon, in the darkish patch in front of it, which is odd. When I first got access to the plateau, simply walking in front of the pylon prompted me to plant something.

It wasn't working for me until I read this and planted in the dark area like you said. It doesn't say that anywhere on mine but it's the only way it works.
