So I'm an idiot and made the fizzy root beer with the ginger I found in the chest before even finding the note and the barrel for the quest. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I just opened the area by Scar's place and ginger grows wild there.

What you havn't said is whether or not you still have the Candy and the "Extra Fizzy Root Beer". My question is are you saying the barrel will not take the items?

I don't think foraged Ginger works for this quest. Ginger makes Root Beer, Dried Ginger from the chest makes "Extra Fizzy Root Beer". There may be places where you can get more Dried Ginger in the Mine, I'm not sure.

Does the game ask you to make it? If you still have the fizzy root beer you could place it in the fridge in Wall-e's world to make it progress again.
