So... this fish is super hard to get... I have only got 3 by now and one was a buddy-bonus...
As far as I know You can only get it from orange fish spots at dazzle beach during storms?
But even then I rarely get it... mostly get the other one...
Moanas boat never give them, I have gotten every other fish from her but not fugu...
I have bacically just given up on getting more of the fish...

Yeah, my inventory increased dramatically...and now that you jog my memory...it was the fishing potions. I was just using them up at the time and just happen to be at the beach during a rain storm.

Took me a Looooooong time to get my first Fugu but now I come across them somewhat regularly! I actually have a Christmas Fugu, even! I wish the game would stop trying to use my Santa hat fish as cooking ingredients btw lmao.

I've caught Fugu in both; thunderstorms and rain. Surprisingly, I've had better luck catching them in rain than storms (without a potion).

You can put the Christmas fish out on a table or shelf type decoration as clutter on the top. Then the game can't try and pull them from the chest inventory.
