That's not really a defense for awfully monotone annoying quest design. Just because you have a lot of time to do it, doesn't mean wasting literal hours on crappy RNG is suddenly fine.
No, it's not, you're completely missing the point.
Going around the same 10 or so mining nodes over and over and over and over for literal hours until RNGeesus finally gives you the drops is terrible design. It doesn't matter if you have a day to do it or 2 years. It's bad quest design, period. I'm not complaining about quests you can't do in a day (like giving certain companions gifts they like etc), I'm complaining about a very specific RNG reliant quest with an insanely low drop rate for the item you need.
Noone is forcing you to do so. It doesn't prevent you from experiencing the story. In my case it took 2h 22m. I started farming these when a Harry Potter movie started on TV which I'm recording for my little one and thus know how long it took. Even when it took 4h its IMO acceptable for a month long event. Whether that task makes sense or not is a different story though. But in that sentiment, none of the tasks really do.
Stop making excuses for bad game design.
It literally costs premium currency to do this Star Path, so yeah, stop telling people not to complain about ridiculously poorly designed quests. I swear, some people will defend the biggest garbage any developer does...
There are actually 3 versions: if you don't spend any mooncoins you can do the event and its quests though you can buy only a limited amount of items, then you have the two versions where you can unlock the additional tasks and gain access to all items in the reward tabs.
And yet, no-one forces you to do the event. It's just cosmetics. Whether the tasks for the event are dull and just an RNG based grind is a different story. I tend to watch movies or YT videos or listen to music when doing such stuff. The game literally does not need any attention. You find it dull than simply don't do it or do them next to something you enjoy more, as a side dish basically. And yet we have reports of people who completed that particular task in 3-4 hours, others might need 6-12 hours, but this is also an event that spans a month.
On top of that the game literally has basically the same tasks which you can do daily for dreamlight. If so you should complain also about these.
