Can't find rich soil

I have started the new quest from Scar and I now need rich soil to create the potion from Merlin. In the collection tab it says rich soil can be found everywhere but I can only ever find regular soil. I have dug up my entire valley and having found a single piece of "rich" soil am I missing something?

You have to harvest plants that you plant yourself. Takes a lot of farming but I was able to do it with out it feeling like a grind. But I plant in all areas as a daily for money and dreamlight quests.

If you harvest wheat (the fastest plant) than you can get a limited amount of rich soil. I think 10 rich soil for approximatly 100 plants.
