Also its a good idea to try clean up the ground for items, since they have better spawn rates when there is more space.
Hope your drop rate picks up soon.
Before the update at least I could get a few dry & dark wood. After update it is even more rare for me. Frosted Heights, Forgotten & Sunlit, just finished a run. I got 3 Dark wood, 7 Dry, 18 Softwood and 20 hard. I can get the two lesser (soft/hardwood) in the other biomes. This is a big fail for me. The rarer wood was supposed to be more plentiful after the update not more rare. Hope this get fixed asap.
Two runs, about three hours apart. Frosted Heights, Forgotten & Sunlit
First run 1 dark wood, 2 dry, 21 hardwood, 24 soft.
Second run. 3 dark, 5 dry, 27 hardwood, 21 softwood.
This is really unacceptable in these area's. Softwood & hardwood you can buy from Kristoff's stall. Plus you can pick up a ton in the plaza, meadow, valor & trust forests.
I can not for the life of me fathom why so much soft wood and hard wood were added to Frosted/Forgotten & Sunlit and the spawn rates on dry & dark are now next to nothing. This is so disheartening. We get great new items to craft for Halloween season, but the wood they need is now extremely hard to find.
Also, the pumpkin stack has disappeared from Scrooge's store and also the ones I bought from his store are missing from my furniture storage/list.
I added tree's in forgotten, sunlit and frosted & before the update that would get me a bit more on my wood runs. After the update, they are filled with hard and soft wood. I always pick up all the wood so it respawns.
I keep seeing people say they took out all trees and put in a few Plaza Trees.
I guess it is not the tree, but the Biome, which determines type of wood?
So what are Plaza Trees and how many do we need minimum to get the amount of wood we should? Per Biome? Thanks.
I took all trees from Forgotten Lands within a short time of opening that Biome. It was far too dark and crowded. I couldn't move or see anything. I still would like to have some giant chandeliers or something.
I had thought it was the tree that determined the wood, after the update, don't think that is true anymore. If so, then Plaza tree would be the best to line up for a tree farm.
Plaza Trees are the square tree's in your furniture menu, scroll to bottom, choose tree's.
I put light brick down in forgotten and just made squares around tree's that I put in lined groups. I could not take that dark with my eyes. Now I have no problem in there.
Thanks -- so, the decorative smaller trees that are in the square plant pots, in the main area?
You mean square pots not square trees, right?
Light brick, is an idea. I will see what it takes to craft that. Thank you
I can't figure why they made everything so DARK?
The plaza tree has a dirt and stone ring around the bottom.
Brick Road is what I used. The light brick uses only stone in crafting & is very easy to obtain stone if you have Kristoff unlocked & his stall made. You can buy as many stacks of stone as you need. On forgotten I made sure to leave an area all the way around the middle hill so flowers etc could spawn.
Rearranging tree's helps a bit on the darker area's. Some forests are meant to be dark/sinister. I just can't do that dark with my poor old eyes lol.
I saw the pale grey brick road in crafting walkway area. It looks nice and I have over 900 rocks piled up no pun intended. So that's great there is a way to get rid of some of it. I also like the way that tile (road building tile) looks.
Rocks seem to proliferate while mining. I began selling them even though they sell for dirt (ha - no pun intended, again) cheap. I had nowhere left to put them.
I placed some of the Plaza trees around the edges of Forgotten Lands. Thank you.
I used the regular ones. There is also a Large Plaza Tree in the tree area of Furniture. But I liked the smaller ones so I hope those spawn dark wood also.
Yes exactly about it being practical for some people's vision levels -- yes it's a beautiful painting or would be nice on film but we have to actually navigate and 'work' in those Biomes.
