And I put in a ticket, but it takes days for them to come back with a reply :( I really hope my game save can be saved. I'm too scared to log out of the cloud
Thank you ;( Yeah I'm not gonne restart for sure. I spend 50 hours in the game. Not gonne restart all my hard work.
I'm afraid that this will break something even more :(
A moderator in the discord channel suggested that I uninstall the game, then reinstall it, and sign into my cloud account.
But I'm worried this will delete the save file for good :(
Well, if you do reinstall it, verify the game files right after. I have had a few games that were missing files right after I dl and installed them.
I'm going to play it save and not delete anything. And wait for support to get back to me. Hopefully sooner than they're current respond rate.
On the discord channel, more people are starting to raise the same issue I'm having. But they have it on PS5
I am not sure it will make any difference because of what I mentioned earlier about how the save file is structured, but on occasion, I go in C:/user/"username"/appdata/locallow/Gameloft/Disney dreamlight valley/ and copy the Steam (bunch of numbers)_r folder and save it at another location. What I dont know is whether or not, if my current save messes up, I can just over right it with the latest save file I backed up... to fix the problem.
It should be noted that the save file structure may be somewhat different for PS4/PS5 because there is no Cloud save option for those, just continue, new game, settings and credits. I also own a copy of this game on PS4.
After some more chatting, I decided to go ahead with your prior suggestion. I'm currently reinstalling the game, and then I'll verify the game files. As someone in the discord said, the save files can't have just gone poof. And I have my cloud account.
So hopefully... when I log back in the game, I should get access to my save file
Sorry to hear about that. Like I mentioned earlier, games that have major time investment should be designed to support manual saves that you can then periodically save to a USB.
