Tuna can also be gained by chance from using Moana's boat. (The one where she brings you fish on the beach.)
If you "detest fishing" I highly recommend upgrading Moana's boat soon as you can. The more it's upgraded, the more fish she brings you at one time, and the higher odds you get the one you wanted.
The Tuna usually have just a regular white circle in my experience. They seem to be really common in the Glade of Trust, but they show up in bunches and then nothing for several tries.
My take on it is that the Devs have programmed the RNG so it will take a good two days to finish most of those "pumpkin" tasks. I think I had a couple that were quick but most are just set up to require two days (conversations).
EDIT: The Tuna can be caught with Blue circles, but they appear to be a random "not really special" event. Mainly, they are a common white circle fish. I have caught all of mine in the Glade of Trust, but I have caught them in the past on Dazzle Beach.
To add to that, they added squid (blue circles) to the white circles so I'm catching more squid and herring than tuna, when before this last update, I caught more tuna.
White circles, alright. I was fishing in the forgotten lands, where I believe the game info claims it can be found? Maybe glad of trust is the other one though and I'd have better luck there.
And I have Moana's boat maxed out (everything really), have a cache of tuna in my storage, but none of that counts towards the villain's path duties. If it is anything like the other two fishing duties we've had so far, even bringing a fishing buddy along to spawn a second tuna (should I catch one) wouldn't count towards the total.
Fish up all the schools, then do Forgotten Lands, then come back. Repeat
sounds like a good plan. I have to give that a try tomorrow.
@StressFrakture
White circles it is, then. And then the final bits of mushroom picking, just to round it out.
Never knew that - thanks. Harsh tasks then.
More often, even the ones you have can count in a quest or task. There are a lot of rules for this one!
I didn't bother going to Forgotten Lands as I found I was getting Tuna far more often in Glade of Trust, and I used any down time as an excuse to take micro breaks.
It takes a while, you just kinda have to zone out, put on some music, watch your favorite TV show or something, especially if you don't like the fishing, you definitely need a distraction.
Yeah, no shortcuts or help-outs in this one. Removing those big fungus with your watering can (which gives you a few mushroom packs) doesn't even count towards the picking mushrooms duty, so it is grind grind grind all the way with all the duties in the villains path.
Another "on the plus side" though? I racked up enough of the cooking duties to knock them out at the same time, PLUS I'm pretty sure I've covered all the recipies currently in the game that contain sugarcane.
Except the one that calls for a fish I'm not even sure exists in the game yet. So confusing.
