Changing clothes doesnt stick/work

Everytime i try to switch to other clothes it doesnt stick.
When i hit ESC to go back from inventory, i wear the stuff before clicking the new ones :(
If i choose another hairstyle it sticks, but no clothes :(
Any solution to this?

Small Workaround, swap your gender, then equip the shirt and do the first quest. Worked for me and another streamer, you can even switch back and get your original char back.

You just go to your wardrobe and uncheck the coat

As i havent thought of that ;))) - exactly that wont work, cant get rid of any sorts of coat - can switch between them, but cant get rid of

I think its the jacket... i cant get ríd of it.
I can switch between jackets but not get rid of it - changing "shirts" or "jeans" works, but i cant switch to dresses or overalls - the jacket still stucks :(

I found a fix that worked for me. In my case my character was stuck in the starting dress, but it seemed to think when the dress was removed it defaulted to a shirt and skirt I didn't own.

If you talk to Scrooge a bit later (maybe you have to exit the store and re-enter, not sure if there are other conditions) you can special order items. I had to buy both a shirt and skirt (trying to buy just the skirt caused a similar glitch where I couldn't order it, or the price was messed or something, I guess because I would default to an invalid outfit).

Scrooge says he'll mail it to you, but it seems to go into your inventory rather than the actual mailbox. At that point I could equip the Scrooge shirt and the new skirt to replace the one my non-dress outfit kept trying to default to. And now I can freely toggle between tops/skirts and dresses.

found a weird bug playing tonight, started the game in the afternoon and I couldn't change my outfit (like everyone else in the post) any change I made it would revert. Then sometime after the game switched into the night time I randomly tried to change my outfit and it stuck. Later when it became daytime again I assumed (wrongly) that it was a small bug but it had fixed it self, I changed my outfit exited the menu and when back in game the outfit reverted to what I was originally wearing.

I think the bug is linked to the day/night time cycle in game and at some point during the night you are free to change your outfit.

I had this issue but I could see that my character had on a necklace that I hadn't added to her in the avatar designer. Fortunately Uncle Scrooge had one in the catalogue so I bought it and that fixed the issue completely.

Just a little work around until the issue is fixed properly.

It works really like that.
I used the Avatartool too - i had earrings, necklace, ring AND the smartwatch (which i almost forgot). For every of those importet items i ordered new stuff via Dagobert/Scrooge and switched the worn items with the new ones.
Now it seems to work - finally i can even wear the costume ones

OK, yeah that's what it is. I just fixed the bug on my character too. It looks like the avatar tool is leaving items equipped underneath other items, but not adding them to your inventory. Put on a watch, then put on gloves when creating a character and they'll still be wearing the watch under the gloves. When you take off the gloves in game you'll see the watch, but since it's not in you inventory you can't actually wear it, so the game reverts any clothing changes you made when you exit the menu.

To fix it you have to swap all the item you don't own with ones you do before exiting, but you can't unless you actually have items in that category. My character was wearing a skirt, but I don't own any skirts, so I had no way to fix that item.

Follow up bug in case anyone gets it. If you go to Scrooge to order items so you can fix this the game may try to add any bugged items on you to the shopping cart. I couldn't buy a 400g skirt to fix my character, because the game kept putting 7000g of stuff that was stuck on me in the shopping cart. If this happens try switching gender and buy the item. Switching gender works because it likely that character only has the basic default clothing so nothing is stuck on them.
