Mod support?
Will this game have mod support? Or if not support at least be mod-friendly enough?

it's a live service game, I wouldn't count on it

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of too. But it is single-player, so I'm hoping people will make mods anyway, I just hope the devs don't ban people for that or something...

I believe their intention is to make it so you can play with other people(likely joining their world or whatever). Since they will make money by selling customization options, it seems pretty likely they will ban people who mod the game.

It's not persistent online, so I'm assuming mods will eventually become a thing, with or without support.
Myth Alric 11 SEP 2022 a las 15:40
Well if you save to the cloud, or interact with other people in any way, you should probably expect to be banned.

Why lol? As long as you're not using any "harmful" mods, devs shouldn't ban people for modding their game. I mean, it's possible they will go down this road, but it would be absolutely indefensible from a customer perspective.

Why not lol? You don't have to use them.

I'm wagering no, because Disney tends to come down like a ton of brick-made lawyers on people who go around messing with their IPs. Combine this with the fact that the devs expect to support the game via cosmetic MTX, and I don't like the non-getting-sued chances of even minor stuff like making Elsa a redhead or something.

As soon as you allow mods you get X-rated content. So, it won't happen.

Hate to break it to you, but lewd art of Disney characters has existed since long before the internet. Mods would change nothing.

Big difference existing on internet vs being in a licensed game.

Very unlikely because it has "Disney" copyright... which means as part of the terms and conditions for licence of character/music/names use, it has to be kept politically and religiously neutral with no offending material (yes I know there are people are offended by a lot of content in old Disney movies and cartoon shorts.)
As creator content "may" contain offensive material it would be in breach of licence.

It is actually pretty common for most games to ban modders if there is any chance you are interacting with other players or the companies servers. Since it is basically cheating. It is also possible that you could corrupt or harm other players game's, or even cause problem for the servers if you connect online.

Never deterred anyone before, either. There will likely be mods regardless of official support or not. That's simply how it is.
