Stuck af after cursing my world with not enough dream shards

Being dumb, I spent my dream shards to create dreamlight and unlocked new biomes, now I am stuck. I know this has been posted before and mentioned but wanted to add to that list so they do something asap about it. I actually cannot progress at all now, my fault ofc.

This is why they sent out 25 by mail ^^;
The upcoming update is supposed to increase the Dream Shard amounts, but for now, just need to wait for thorn respawns or try feeding animals for more.

I'm upset, I didn't even mean to start the friggin curse. I was digging for clay across the river from the tower and it started the event.

Honestly, there should have been a warning, you know?
Like, of course people are going to get excited about opening up new areas and they see that they can through dream shards.

So, it's not just us who are at fault.

It's weird because I actively tried not to use them and save them for quests, but I still have less than the quests require of me. It would be nice if they would let you obtain them some other way in a more consistent fashion. Either like some type of minigame or a special quest every day that gives like 5 shards or something. I've had extremely bad luck with the daily thorns and I got only 1 today.

One little "tip" you can do is to access the area you're blocked off by moving the wishing wells across the zones that are blocked.

So basically, in the Forest of Valor or the Glance, you go in furniture mode, pick up the well put it across the river then just teleport on it. That way you can access thorns, and animals you can feed for potentials shards. (Animals tend to work better than thorns tho).

That's really useful actually, I didn't have the well unlocked at that point, managed to get through with some luck of finding shards. But defo useful in the future

Exactly the same happened to me, got close to the tree and curse started with no warning

The Email you got in game WAS the warning. IT specifically tells you to hold on to your shards

That doesn't help. There are a few quests needing these shards.

They gave you 40 to start and 25 later along with the mail telling you to hold on to them because they are needed for a quest. The only other quest that I remember that requires multiples before the curse quest is when they teach you how to craft with them. That only required 10.

So either you ignored the text of the mail entirely and crafted them all to get minimal amounts of dreamlight or gave them all out as gifts or something.

Unfortunately wasting 10 shards to get 250 dreamlight is not worth it. 250 dreamlight can be earned in literally a minute or two doing the Dreamlight Duties.

I was fortunate enough to have saved some of the critters' favorite foods when this happened to me, so I could *eventually* feed enough critters and got the needed dream shards.
