Stuck on stone soup quest

I gathered the items not realising I had to cook it according to the quest and cooked the soup early, stupidly I gathered the missing herb for the quest (even though it was in my storage) and suddenly I can't get anymore craggy rocks to make the soup. I am stuck with Stone Soup and no way to hand it in since I'm supposed to cook the soup but can't because I can't get anymore craggy rocks. Anyone have a solution?

Want to add; this is a really stupid character softlock. Either stop me from cooking it too early or let me be able to hand it in early if I did (taking into account storage items in quests). Or let me muck up but give the ability to abandon and attempt the quest again to correct my mistake.

Only adding to to make the devs aware: I managed to cook it using stones from the ground and herbs I had in storage back in my home, but the game wouldn't count it because it specified I needed to collect the herbs first. So I did that, cooked more soup, used it in the quest... and now I'm stuck with one more stone soup item in my inventory. Since it's a quest item, I can't sell it, can't drop it, at best I can leave it in storage but considering how limited storage space is, this is hardly an ideal solution.

I am having this exact same issue! I put that delicious looking stone soup in storage for the meantime. Also? I don’t think the stone giant ever popped up on my screen, I think it was invisible lol

Y'know, at the very least, the devs could just make it an item we can make on our own using regular stone items / pebbles and the spices, then it can be used as a food item too.

Same thing happened here. I picked up the three stones and crafted it using the Basil and Oregano I had in storage. Then when I exited the cooking it still showed I needed Oregano and Basil. So I went out into the Valley and got one of each to update the quest. Then the quest said "Make Stone Soup" (which I already had) and when I went back to the Frozen world, none of the rocks are there so I don't have any way to make a new one and I can't get rid of the one I have in my inventory and Anna just stares at me like a crazy person when I try to hand her over the one in my inventory.
