How do you change the time of day in game manually?
I pay mostly at night after work and I don't want the game to be darker all the time. How do you change the time so i can play in the day time hours?

you would have to change the time on your pc

Don't do that. It can make appear a bug, where nothin is spawning back, like rocks or the vines. Learned it the hard way.

Here's what the devs said about time skip on the official Discord server:

"We recommend that you DO NOT Time Skip. While we understand that there are many benefits to time skipping, there are also unintended errors. As we are currently in the Early Access period, we will not be prioritizing issues caused by time skipping, as it is not the intended gameplay experience."

that makes sense very understandible if it cues bugs in a game

I guess it will be forever dark since I hardly get to play during the day.

The fact that this game is in real time made it a no buy for me (just like AC unfortunately).

It's a big screw you for everyone who has a full time job.

I don't understand. Unlike in Animal crossing, the only thing that time affects in this game is when characters go to sleep. And they don't go to sleep like 8 hours straight. More like a couple hours.

Stores are open 24/7. Goofy, Merlin and Scrooge are always awake from what i've seen.
But yeah aside from when characters go to sleep, and obviously the time of day in the game are pretty much the only thing effected by time of day.

Another thing i've notice is with day changes. Thorns re spawn and some chests spawn during a day change, although I'm not sure what time in game is considered a "new" day.

Crops do grow based on real time, but they don't take days to grow, and if you grow them in their biome, they grow faster. Mining, foraging, fishing points and such all re spawn very fast.

I time skipped and it broke my game file. It's no longer playable apparently until the last day I time skipped to (which was Sept 10), no matter what I do I can't make crops or gatherables respawn. So I'm taking a 2 day hiatus. Learned it the hard way too. It sucks because as someone with a full time job who works mostly nights--and as someone with night blindness who has a hard time even seeing what's going on on my screen when it's nighttime in-game--it makes things very inconvenient. I really wish there were a way to play outside of real time.

I have the same issue. It'd be better if game had it's own day/night cycle option without changing any time related stuff in game. Seeing the game always night time is kinda depressing

The good thing about AC is that since it's played on console, you can manually set the time differently without as much consequence. It would be really ideal if the game itself had a toggle to recognize system time or to use a manual start time. Because, yeah...I work during the weekdays so I won't be seeing morning basically ever (because I sleep in a bit weekend mornings and have a routine that is gaming-free until noon).

I'm already having the issue that certain characters are asleep for about half the time I have to play. Plus, it's dark. Doing a particular quest that makes the screen darker than normal at night? I was pretty much finding my way by smashing into things.

I hate when developers don't understand realism doesn't always equal fun. Seriously this is a thousand percent stupid decision from the devs.

Also if you time skip it will reset your progress on the battle pass. Your items seem to remain but otherwise it's broken. Also what everyone else is saying -- I broke my save on Game Pass so bought the game on steam to start over lol.

Yeah my internet went out while I was playing at night. Didn't notice until I tried to save.
Played on 10th from like 8pm to like 3 am....Didn't know local save with date change would screw my game up. I can't complete the cave puzzle and I didn't even try to time skip.
I'm stuck on that portion of the game until Gameloft decides to make smart decisions.
Sucks because I enjoy this game.

It actually does affect other things - the main one for me is that Remy is always asleep, so I can’t cook with him, get him to follow me, etc.

The irony is that some players have no choice but to skip time backwards to play, as there's a game-breaking bug for people living far into the East.
Also I'm pretty sure the day change is midnight.
As for Remy sleeping through the night, I find that unusual, he's always up for me. Maybe it's cause I've opened Chez Remy though. Though it could just be a bug. I don't know.
Try putting the time back to the daytime instead of forward into the next day when you play.

Funny, that you're discussing such details. A developpers decision to make a game "real time" simply is not acceptable! Most players also have a real life to handle.
Not beeing able to switch this horror off is an affront for all players (buyers)!
