Be careful with your dream shards!

Without too many spoilers, all my characters are locked in/whole town is on lockdown and I need dream shards to finish the quest, but I have no way of getting them.
So don't use your dream shards, save them for these types of quests. Silly me forged some of mine into a crystal to try it out.
So now I can't do anything in-game other than the basic stuff of mining, fishning and such, but no characters or quests.

I did that.. Got 2 shards from the 7K area and now going for the 10K area, but its a really long boring grind when its just the small daily stuff and you can't sell or anything.

OK, just checked. fair warning i am nowhere near that quest. i just got scrooge open.

in scrooge's store is a crafting bench (that was never mentioned in the game). on it you can convert dream shard to dreamlight at 10 to 1. but not the other way as I thought, or at least i don't have the recipe yet. But I am not sure where to get the shards. The 40 I have I got from my mailbox when i first checked it, after the tutorial. Maybe its a daily thing, or weekly?

and the night crystals covert to purified crystals which i am not sure of their use.

Majority of dreamlight isn't going to come from only dailies earned well over 10k simply tending to the large list of overall grind achievements which gives you what you essentially need, the game is supposed to be slow going not a rush. I've been meeting quotas by leisurely grinding all craftable as well as all quest materials. Not sure why there's some assumption of paygating just relax earn achievements and don't rush it literally just released and has that take your time feel of AC.

Yeah, I have it like that too... Many of the duties are not possible for me currently, but I think I'll try and go for the 10K since I only have 2 shards/missing 3. Doubt the thorns tomorrow will provide that many sadly.

We don't have achievements here on Steam sadly :) And the problem here is, that everything is on lockdown because of a quest. I can't do anything, talk to anyone, sell stuff and so on.
If I could just do other quests, it wouldn't be a problem of course :)

The overall achievement rewards are not actual steam achievements, under the top dailies tasks uder dreamlight you have a multitude of genres of grind types that add up over time and reward more and more meant to be done over time as the game goes by real time. it should look like:

Foraging
Gardening
Fishing
Cooking
Collection
Friendship
Village
Mining

for dreamlight rewards I believe every platform has these dreamlight achievements but best of luck; hope you manage to get on track.

I just got a dream shard from feeding a bunny a carrot! It sounds like if you find out the animals fav food you can earn them possibly. Yes you have to chase some of the animals a little, but it isn't bad.

Oh yeah, sorry! I thought people knew... Its quite rare and mostly you get cosmetics from it, but it is possible to get a shard ^_^ There sadly is a long cooldown on feeding.

Haha, I didn't even think about the clock! If I go back/forward with the clock, would the impact the gameplay other than the light? Will I loose progress or something? Never played this type of game before.
Anyway, I'm about to launch this morning, so there should be new thorns... Hoping there is at least 3 shards in them!

I found that if you give animals their favourite food you always get a dream shard! That's how I got my last one. I fed a rabbit a carrot. And since then I have fed a bunch and seem to always get one. However rabbits are very annoying lol. The easiest ones are the turtles along Dazzle Beach.

Their favourite food is seaweed. You can have a high chance of getting it if you fish not in a fishing spot. Just cast your line and it will either be seaweed or a common fish of that area.

If you want the squirrels, and have Remy unlocked, you can buy peanuts from him and that's their favourite food.

Also, if you have the Valor Forest unlocked you can feed the Raccons blueberries, which are in the forest so it's pretty easy. Though in my experience they are also as bad as the rabbits lol. You might have better luck though xD
