Sunstone fragment (Mother Gothel's quest)

Right now I have found the one at night, Here I am in the Morning and it is not here in the Sunlit Plateau. Hoping I can find the one at midday.

Is there a certain time in the morning? or is it bugged?

I got my "morning" fragment in the Plateau shortly after midnight, lol. So, I think there's a pretty wide window when it comes to what is considered morning, but it ends earlier than many of us are expecting, as I've seen people saying that they got their midday one after 10am, so the morning cut-off seems to be before that.

I really think the game just divides the day into three 8 hour segments. I found my Morning shard at 12:30 am and my afternoon shard at 9:30 am.

It is local time how they spawn so if you are not in the same timezone you can't compare correctly.

The official local time they spawn should be the following:

The "Morning" Shard from 12:00 AM – 10:00 AM
The "Midnight" Shard from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
The "Night" Shard from 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM


I found the "Midnight" Shard at 10:30 AM at my local time, so i can say it is correct.
Now i have to wait until 7 PM to find the Night shard.

But the Quest can bug out, so the time can be different and it would be hard to find the shards at the correct time.

It depends on when you started that segment of the quest. The hint is in the quest. remember it said "one whole day" I don't remember the exact words but I do remember the hint being a full day. So if you started the quest at midnight and you are looking for the shard in the morning then I am guessing you have to wait till the following midnight or morning.

I believe I started my quest about noon and I didn't find the shard till night the following day. I buried it in a place where I could check up on it from time to time. there was a six hour gap to where I was logged off and the shard still didn't show up. But for me It took a little over 24 hours for me to complete the quest.
